Holly came in rescue last winter after having lived in someone’s back yard where she was totally ignored. Her coat was in terrible shape and she was covered in hot spots. She had to be shaved as a result. Holly spent several months in a foster home regaining her confidence and as well as her coat. She now lives in Maryland with her family and her canine sibling Andi another rescue collie. We could not have wished for a better home for this precious dog that touches everyone she meets with her gentle loving nature.

Update from Holly’s Parents:

Holly is now a certified Pets on Wheels dog, having made her first visit to an assisted living facility. Her next step is to take her Canine Good Citizenship Test and then her Therapy Dog Test. Once she is a Therapy dog, she will be able to go anywhere she wants, including the library. We have a program here called "DEAR" which stands for Drop Everything And Read. In the program, dogs go into the library and children practice reading to the dogs (nothing like a loving and non-judgmental set of ears). I know Holly will enjoy it because she likes to cuddle up with me while I read or listen to NPR. Holly's coat is a little patchy still. The vet did blood work and discovered that she is Hypothyroid. Holly is on thyroid medicine now and she is growing both outer coat and undercoat

UPDATE: Holly passed her Canine Good Citizenship test this weekend!
